As we enter the winter illness season in full swing, one overlooked remedy to keep in mind is ginger. Ginger, or ginger root, has many medicinal qualities: it is is anti-fungal, antibacterial, antiseptic, helps boost your immune system, and for an added bonus, helps to heal wounds. Ginger can help ward off coughs and colds, or if you are already sick, significantly reduce your symptoms. Next time you start to feel an illness coming on, do your body a big favor: buy some fresh ginger and make ginger tea!
